Here is
the little Mac utility I created that enables Mac users to
use custom curve files. It's very simple, and was created
with a shareware utility called "file typer."
This is a Mac Classic app. If you drag a file,
or a folder of files, onto it, it will convert the file type
of any files with the extension ".ntc" to filetype
"Nntc", creator "Mlod". This is the filetype
and creator for the Mac Nikon Capture Camera Control app's
saved curves. It also works for loading curves in the Nikon
Capture Editor. (I don't know about Nikon View - haven't tried)
Files that are altered by this program SHOULD still work on
PCs, although I haven't had a chance to check that yet.
Depending on how the OS X file system on your
Mac is set up, you may also have to change the file extension
to ".ncv"
If you save a curve file from a Mac, you should
be able to change it's extension to ".ntc" and then
open it from the PC version of NC 3. Again, I haven't been
able to test this.
This "droplet" was generated with
"File typer," a great little (classic) shareware
utility that lets you test and set lots of different Mac attributes.
I've used this utility for years, and have no reason to think
the droplet I created will cause anybody any problems, but
nevertheless, use it at your own risk. I assume no liability
if anything goes wrong.
